Not really sure this has to do with technology, but I felt it to be important to share with everyone.

Pay Attention
This is a video I found my senior year of high school and, even then, the knowledge I gained by watching this video has stayed with me to this day. I remembered that it had a lot to do with digital technology being integrated into education and what they say really made a lot of sense to me. What do you think?
Interactivity #4
For this interactivity I chose a lesson plan based on
students ability to use order of operations and their ability to create and
solve real world problems. I chose this lesson plan because I feel it is
important that students have the skills to take what they learn in the
classroom and not only solve them based on theory but be able to relate these
skills to real life situations. Having this relationship gives the lesson
meaning to the students so they will not believe that they are learning this
sort of material for no practical reason. It is also important that students
know how technology can be related to anything they learn.
Between
the learning strategies, the standards, and the technologies being used, I
think that they are all well aligned towards the leaning goals. The standards
being fulfilled are student’s ability to use order of operations as well as
relate problems to the real world. To do this, student are asked to create
problems in which order of operations would be used and then use computers or digital cameras to find/take pictures
based on said problems in order to bring the problems to life. It is clear that
the learning strategies, the standards, and the technologies align together
well.
The
technologies used for this lesson are critical to the success of the lesson
because they give the lesson more meaning. If students can use pictures from
the internet or take them in real life, then it is clear that the problems they
are solving must somehow relate to the real world. Also, using these
technologies will make the lesson more enjoyable to the students, thus keeping
them more interested and engaged.
